Rebecca Upton
Rebecca was born and raised in Murfreesboro. She is a graduate of Webb School, Bell Buckle, TN and received both her BBA in accounting and Masters in Business Administration from MTSU (Go Blue Raiders). Rebecca is employed with Dempsey Vantrease & Follis as a CPA and loves every minute of working to fulfill the tax, audit and consulting needs of the community. In addition to her day job she has the privilege of serving the community and profession as a member of the board or volunteer for several organizations. She currently serves as the Treasurer of the Junior League of Murfreesboro, 2nd Vice President of the Accounting Advisory Board of MTSU, and is on the Executive Board of Read To Succeed. Rebecca also loves to volunteer for Beesley Animal Foundation and the Center for the Arts.
Rebecca is married to Lee Upton and they have two wonderful dogs Murray and Duke. They enjoy spending their free time at Titan's football games, MTSU sporting events, horseback riding, and traveling. Read To Succeed holds a special place in both of their hearts and they look forward to their continued involvement with the program!!
Read To Succeed would like to thank Rebecca for all her hard work on the Celebrity Spelling Bee. She helped raise $6,000 of the $33,000 given to Read To Succeed. She is also an active member of the Executive Board and is very committed to the mission of literacy in Rutherford county. Thank you for all your hard work Rebecca!
