The Read To Bee 6th Grade Spelling Bee is an annual event which features students from Murfreesboro City, Rutherford County, and local private schools. Students must compete and win their individual school spelling bees before advancing to the Read To Bee Championship. The goal of this event is to promote and encourage literacy education among the students in our community. The 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners of the competition receive press coverage and a monetary prize.
The 22nd Annual Read To Bee was held on Friday, April 10th at The Washington Theatre at Patterson Park Community Center in Murfreesboro. Sixteen 6th graders from Murfreesboro City, Rutherford County, and Middle Tennessee Christian schools came together to compete for the title of 2026 Read To Bee Champion.
